Enabling the Sync
The setting lives in your assessment’s Settings tab, under Miscellaneous.1
Create a Google Spreadsheet
Create a new, empty spreadsheet in your Google account. This is where Equip will write the results.
2
Grant Editor access to hello@equip.co
Use the spreadsheet’s Share option to give Editor permission to
hello@equip.co. Equip needs this to create sheets and write rows.3
Paste the spreadsheet URL in assessment settings
Open the assessment’s Settings tab, find Write results to Google Sheets under Miscellaneous, and paste the spreadsheet URL.
4
Save the assessment
Click Create/Update to save your settings. The sync is now active for all future attempts.
What Gets Synced
Once candidates start attempting the assessment, Equip automatically creates one sheet per test plus an overall assessment sheet inside your spreadsheet. A candidate’s row is written as soon as they complete each test.
You can view a sample results spreadsheet to see exactly what the output looks like.
Troubleshooting
Most sync issues come down to a few known causes:- Older attempts are missing. Only candidates who attempt the assessment after you set up the sync are written to the sheet. Results from earlier attempts do not appear retroactively; use Export Results to get those.
- The sync stopped working. Check that
hello@equip.costill has Editor permission and that the spreadsheet URL saved in assessment settings is correct. - Rows stopped appearing after edits to the spreadsheet. Do not rename the sheets Equip creates, and do not change their column names. Equip relies on both to find where to write.
The Google Sheet is a convenient live view, not the source of truth. The full results, including per-question detail and proctoring evidence, always remain available on your Equip dashboard.
