Do Candidates See the Same or Random Questions?

How question selection and shuffling work across candidates.

Candidates do not see the same quiz. Equip draws questions from large question banks and randomizes the questions, their order, and their options, so candidates sitting next to each other cannot collaborate.

Question Randomization

Every quiz built with Equip Content is randomized in three independent ways:

Randomization	What it means
Different questions	Each candidate gets a different set of questions drawn from a large pool. For an MS Excel skill, one candidate may be asked about SUM() while another is asked about AVERAGE().
Different order	Even when two candidates happen to receive the same question, it appears at a different position. Candidate A may see it first; Candidate B may see it tenth.
Shuffled options	The answer options of an MCQ appear in a different order for each candidate. Candidate A may see options in the order x, y, z; Candidate B may see y, z, x.

This makes the assessment safe even for in-person drives like campus recruitment, where many candidates attempt the same quiz at the same time in the same room.

Recruiters cannot see or select the individual questions in an Equip Content quiz, either while creating the assessment or in candidate results. The question banks are proprietary, and anyone can create a recruiter account, so exposing them would compromise test integrity. Shuffling Settings

Randomization behavior depends on the test type. The table below shows whether you can select the exact questions and what gets randomized:

Coding and SQL Question Pools

Programming and SQL tests hold one question per test, but you can associate multiple questions with the same test so that each candidate receives one at random.

1. Open Assessment Settings

   From the Assessments Dashboard, open the assessment and click Settings.

2. Go to the Test Order tab

   The randomization control lives here, alongside test weightage and proctoring settings.

3. Click the Randomize icon

   Find the Randomize icon next to your coding test.

4. Select the question pool

   Pick the questions from the list of available coding questions. Each candidate is served one question from this pool at random.

Unlike Equip quizzes, Equip’s coding content lets you pick the exact question and see it in candidate results. Randomizing coding questions is optional.
